It is hard to believe it has been a year since the HEUG Alliance 2013. We had a lot of fun in Indianapolis. I have been reviewing the 2014 session lineup and it looks pretty exciting. I must say that I am very pleased to see several sessions on REST, iScripts, and User Experience. With Alliance 2014 just a couple of weeks away, I wanted to make sure I posted my schedule:
- Monday at 1:45 PM - 2:45 PM 33718 PeopleTools Developer: Tips and Techniques in Room 312-317
- Tuesday 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Meet the Experts
I also plan to spend some time in the PeopleSoft demo grounds. Please stop by and visit with me or one of my colleagues. We would love to say hello and show you some new ideas for configuring PeopleSoft applications.
If you are presenting at Alliance, please feel free to promote your session in the comments below.

We're about to embark on a new PeopleSoft adventure, exploring how PeopleTools Portal Technology can help us have a better user experience with Contributor Relations. We want to share our adventure with you and show what we have learned/accomplished between now and our presentation.
I will be demonstrating some recent work with PeopleSoft and Responsive Web Design as well. Stop by the Ciber booth (#504) for a look.
I look forward to your sessions, Jim! They are always interesting and informative.
@Larry, thank you. Just a few more days...
Off-topic:
Jim,
Is it possible to find out the App Engine program, an Application Library is associated with/? I would like to find out the App Engine program that calls the delivered UPG_PM app library?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
@MyBlog, Interesting and good question. I have not tried to do that. Did you open the App Engine and try Find Definition References? If that doesn't do it, then query the PeopleTools tables. This is all metadata. There are a couple of good PeopleTools tables reference pages on the internet. A quick search will identify them for you.
Hi Jim,
Will you be attending Interact 2014 (HIUG Conference) at Orlando in June?
Thanks.
Tom
@Tom, yes, working on session content now.
Cool. Looking forward to it. :)
Jim,
we are consuming a SOAP web-service from a third party. They want us add name/value pair into the http header in our request. I went to 8.53 help, did not find any specific example for this. Any help on this is helpful.
I have tried to add the addattribute into into Ibinfo class etc, nothings seemed working.
Is there a way to look into the what actual httplog that IB sends out ?
Thanks
Chandra Panyala
@Chandra, the easiest way to see what is coming in and out of IB is to use Fiddler. You can configure it on your client workstation and then call your web service.
As far as setting HTTP headers, I'm not sure you can do that with the standard connectors. You may have to create your own connector using the IB SDK.
Cool - see you there!
In Peoplesoft:
I HAVE PROMPT FILED ON THE PAGE WHEN I CLICKED PROMPT FIELD.
I WANT TO DEFAULT THE VALUE ON LOOKUP PAGE..
MY Approaches(BUT IT FAILURE):
1) Default the value on the record field properties of this record. Tries this bus does not work. Even after setting this, the prompt table field does not get defaulted on the search page.
How do we default this field value on the page?
@Seshu, if you were trying to default on the main transaction page, that is the correct way. But I don't know about the prompt search page. Just to confirm, are you referring to the prompt page that appears when you click a prompt button or a component search page? If component search page, you can use the SearchInit event. For more feedback, you might want to ask your question on the PeopleSoft General Discussion OTN Forum.
