Ajax Experience '08 JavaScript Presentation

I was researching some JavaScript techniques and ran across the video Advanced JavaScript: Closures, Prototypes, Demystified. If you read this blog and like the JavaScript customization ideas that you see, but aren't very comfortable with JavaScript, then watch this presentation. It does a great job of explaining some of the features of the JavaScript language.

Hi,

I am not able to open the presentation. But it seems that JavaScript is going to be important in new PeopleSoft platform as well.

I was going thru some of the sites and found new Web 2.0 interfaces. Actually if you see the new Tools look (www.itwisesolutions.com/www.itwisesolutions.com/PsftTools85.html), its obvious that Java and JavaScript will be cool.

Lets hope when Fusion comes in market fullfledgly....

JavaScript has been a very important part of the 8.x tool set. From what I've seen, from the developer's perspective, not much changes. Developers still build records, components, and pages. The user experience changes.

As I'm sure you know from reading my blog, I am a serious proponent for Ajax customizations. I encourage all PeopleSoft developers to learn JavaScript and Ajax, and then learn to apply them to PeopleSoft development. In fact, I'm devoting several chapters of a new book to this very subject. More details about the book will follow as important milestones pass.

As for the video, watch it here: http://ajaxian.com/archives/more-ajax-experience-videos-json-and-javascript. Scroll a 3rd the way down the page. I was also able to find the slides on google: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=6&url=http%3A%2F%2Fajaxexperience.techtarget.com%2Fassets%2Fdocuments%2FStoyan_Stefanov_Advanced_JavaScript.ppt&ei=DgMmSriTFo7ysQOm35DrCA&usg=AFQjCNGueurXz1-QQ1JN_vWZrEd1qZIEsw&sig2=udz4F2T6i352dHvHjC_3GA
