See you at UKOUG

I am headed to Birmingham, UK next week to present PeopleTools tips and PeopleSoft RIA at the UKOUG PeopleSoft conference. I will be traveling from the US, West Coast. If you have ventured this route before, then please share your travel tips with me. For example, what is the cheapest way to get to London from Heathrow?

While in Birmingham, I will have the opportunity to chair a PeopleTools round table. If you are attending, please bring questions and advice. This will be an open forum where we will all have the opportunity to share suggestions and solutions.

And I am travelling to US west coast for the BIWA Summit :-)

Heathrow to London... Cheapest is bus, then the Underground (but actually out in the open until Hammersmith), then Heathrow Connect (rail), then Heathrow Express (rail but non-stop) I'd go for Underground for balance between low cost and speed of journey, nearly an hour but a lot less costly than the 15 minutes on Heathrow Express. Taxis are not that fast in traffic and expensive

Good luck with the jet lag !

Thanks Nicolas! I'm sure you had quite a time of it after OOW. These short trips are tough with jet lag. It would be nice if I could spend a couple of weeks in a time zone when I travel so far.

@Pete, I wish I could give you the same good advice about traveling to Oracle HQ, but I don't know much about the area. I actually work and live a good thousand miles from HQ. If you like Pizza, I can recommend Toto's pizza. When I visit HQ, I usually stay at the Summerfield Suites. I like the Summerfield because each room has a kitchen, bedroom, living room, etc.
